Wow

I am not what you would call a die-hard Sienna Miller fan. As far as style goes - I can take her as often as I leave her. Plus she doesn't exactly have me rushing to the box office. Still I have to take my hat off to her for some of her red carpet choices. The latest being this dress from her own label - Twenty8Twelve.

This is obviously bang on trend for autumn-winter as a long sleeved mini dress - which were all over the catwalk and in the high street. It actually reminds me of the Balmain collection for this autumn which I am currently obsessed with!

For a cheaper version try Topshop which has an extremely similar dress with the same scope back detail in silver right now.

UPDATE - Oasis has also just made a nearly identical version which is up on their site. Visit - www.oasis-stores.com to see it.

Trends for Autumn Winter 2009/2010

I am really excited about the new trends emerging for the 2010 Winter season. I say 'new' trends - in fact a lot of whats coming up is a refinement of what we have seen over the last few seasons. Tailoring seems to be back with a bang, and this in turn is bring out a range of long forgotton fabrics - tweed, velvet and sheer are all making a comeback.

Leather too was a favorite on the runway and we can expect to see a revival of the infamous leather pants but also the equally maligned thigh high boots!! Once belonging exclusively to the worlds of fishermen and Julia "Pretty Woman" Roberts, the thigh high boot is becoming a fashion piece in its own right. After making tentative appearances on the runway for the past few seasons the Boot is now officially back. Look at this as an easier way to wear leather pants with a dress over it.

Moving on, one of the most exciting pieces for next season are the bold shoulders we will see on dresses and jackets. Coupled with the untimely death of Michael Jackson this summer we can expect to see a lot of these in the stores this winter.

All in all it promises to be an exciting season for fashion. While there are some great new pieces which will mix things up, there is also a lot of opportunites to recycle pieces already in your closet. The eighties inspiration which has dominated the High Street doesn't seem to be going anywhere, and the tulip silhouette in skirts and dresses remains a strong contender. Which means it should be easy to stay bang on trend without breaking the bank! Faboosh!
